Maritime Heritage Education Subgrant Program
The National Maritime Heritage Grant Program (NMHG) is a federally funded program with a 50% matching grant reimbursement. The program is administered by the National Park Service National Maritime Heritage Program, in partnership with the Maritime Administration (MARAD).
The Massachusetts Historical Commission is among the recipients of 2024 National Maritime Heritage Grants Program, awarded by the National Park Service (NPS) to State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO).
The MHC is accepting applications for the MHC Maritime Heritage Education Subgrant Program.

We are pleased to announce the MHC Maritime Heritage Education Subgrant Program is now accepting applications. The Massachusetts Historical Commission is among the recipients of 2024 Maritime Heritage Grants awarded by the National Park Service (NPS) to State Historic Preservation Offices.
About the Program
The NMHG program, made available to local governments, non-profit organizations, and tribal entities, seeks to advance maritime heritage through public education and expand public access to maritime history through multiple educational platforms. The Massachusetts Historical Commission received $250,000 to administer the program.
