Stop 3. Bartlett Hall, climbing the stairs at the end of Dork Hall, you will leave the both in front and enter the Brigham addition to the Statehouse. On the ceiling, you can see a stained glass window with the original seals of the colony of Massachusetts Bay and Plymouth Colony. In the center, there are the names of the ten republics, the predated the United States.
This hall contains a bronze statue of the Massachusetts Civil War. Hero William Francis Bartlett sculpted by Daniel Chester. French Major General William Francis Bartlett became a general at the age of 24. He was wounded four times and lost his left leg in the siege of Yorktown, but continued to lead his troops. After the war, he received many offers to run for office.
He refused them and died at the age of 36 from tuberculosis.
