About the State House Tours Division

Established by an act of the legislature in 1969, the State House Tours Division now guides visitors through the halls of the state's capitol building. You can contact the Tours office to schedule a tour. Tours last about 45 minutes, include architectural, historical and legislative-focused information, and will take you through the second and third floors of the State House. The Tours division has various brochures that explain the history of the State House and the legislative process.

You can acquire tour information in eight different languages through the office’s Information Desk, which also assists with questions on state government, locating personnel, and other tourist inquiries. The desk has resource notebooks with helpful information for school groups, journalists, historians and travel professionals.

In addition, the State House Tours Division operates the State House Gift Cart, which offers souvenirs, books and other materials relating to the State House.
