Summary

While the summary of the document is self-explanatory and describes the text of the document, there are additional references contained within the summary field that refer the user to other documents and/or legislative records.  Generally, these cross-references serve to group a series of documents that all relate to a final legislative action.

References to House Journal entries and citations from the Acts and Resolves are also included.  House Journal entries are usually included if a document was dismissed; not passed; or, includes a legislative action not appearing in the published Acts and Resolves.

Citations from the Acts and Resolves indicate that more than one legislative action appears in the document or that it is a copy of a legislative action submitted to the General Court as evidentiary material in support of another document.  The following examples of summary cross-references will direct the user to the appropriate source.
