Crowdfunding: Is It The Right Investment Opportunity For Me?
May 1, 2014, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Massachusetts Securities Division
McCormack Building,1 Ashburton Place, 21st Floor, Boston, MA 02108
You are invited to attend the Massachusetts Securities Division’s Crowdfunding Investor Education Training on Thursday, May 1, 2014. This training is designed to help investors better understand the proposed crowdfunding regulations and to help educate them and prepare themselves for crowdfunding offerings.
Crowdfunding represents a revolutionary way for small businesses and startup companies to raise capital. The regulations for crowdfunding are expected to become effective within a year and the Massachusetts Securities Division wants to help investors prepare for these new offerings. Investors need to learn to navigate the disclosures required of crowdfunding issuers, as well as what questions to ask issuers before they invest. Crowdfunding securities are risky investments, so investors must also ensure they are financially able to bear the risk of losing most or all of their investment.
This training will provide potential investors with some of the tools they need to evaluate online securities offerings under the new crowdfunding rules. The training is free, and a boxed lunch will be provided. The training will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., on May 1, 2014, at the McCormack Building, 1 Ashburton Place, 21st Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
We hope you will be able to attend this conference.
