They will also monitor and represent The May Institute's interests regarding reimbursement, policy and planning issues under consideration by agencies within the Executive branch of government including, among others, the Executive Office of Human Services, the Executive Office of Administration and Finance, Department of Public Health, Department of Mental Health, Department of Developmental Services, Rate Setting Commission, Department of Medical Security, Medicaid, and the Group Insurance Commission. Lastly, Mr. Smith and Associates will monitor the annual state budget and all deficiency and supplementary budgets and advocate for the insertion or deletion of language and/or amount with respect to individual items of appropriation as well as outside sections of the budget which would benefit The May Institute, and coordinate meetings between The May Institute representatives and cabinet members, commissioners, state legislators, state auditor, members of Congress, third party payors, and other professional organizations.
