01/01/2019 06/21/2019 NASW-MA is an organization representing members who serve individuals in various settings. Often these individuals require our members (trained social workers) to advocate on their behalf. This directly correlates in our lobbying efforts by meeting with legislators to educate them on the work we do, and how legislation impacts not only the professionals but the clients they serve. Some examples of bills we have worked on are:SB1225/HB1194 End of Life Options, SB62/HB1190 Conversion Therapy Ban, Sb683/Hb643 SW Loan Forgiveness, SB549/HB578 TeleMed Parity, SB582/HB2193 Clawback, SB1048/HB2172 Paid Family/Medical Leave, SB34/HB85 Lift the Family Welfare Cap, SB1004/HB2365 $15 Minimum Wage, SB610/HB596 Single Payer Healthcare, SB499/HB536 ACCESS Bill. H3042 Mandated Reporting. We plan on continuing this into the 2018 year and are filing with the state to ensure that our activities are meeting both the letter and spirit of the law.
