Ventry will also continue to educate MAVA members about state government and the legislative process. During calendar year 2022, Ventry Associates LLP assisted MAVA in modifying Section 16(q) of Chapter 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws. With the change, regional schools and regional vocational-technical schools are now allowed to enter into 25-year leases for educational purposes. The law previously limited such leases to five years. This legislative change is found in Chapter 109 of the Acts of 268, signed into law by the Governor on November 10, 2022.
