This online publication contains information on each of the nine statewide questions that will appear on your Nov. 3, 2026 State Election ballot.
Questions 1-8 on your ballot are laws proposed by initiative petition. Voters are asked if they approve of the proposed law. If passed by the voters, these proposals would become law.
For Questions 1-8 on your ballot, this online publication contains:
- A summary of the proposed law, prepared by the Attorney General
- Brief statements describing the effect of a “Yes” vote and a “No” vote, prepared by the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Commonwealth
- A statement of the fiscal consequences, prepared by the Secretary of Administration & Finance
- Arguments for and against each proposed law, prepared by proponents and opponents of the question
- Majority and/or Minority Reports, prepared by a special committee of the Massachusetts Legislature
- The full text of each proposed law
Question 9 on your ballot is a referendum on an existing law. Voters are asked if they approve of the existing law. If a majority vote “yes,” the law will remain in place. If a majority vote “no,” the law will be repealed.

- Brief statements describing the effect of a “Yes” vote and a “No” vote, prepared by the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Commonwealth
