2016 Post-Election Audits

Under the provisions of chapter 54, section 109A(c) of the Massachusetts General Laws, 3% of all of the precincts in Massachusetts were hand counted after the November 8, 2016 Presidential Election as part of a post-election audit process. The law requires that precincts to be audited must be selected in a random, publicly verifiable, non-computerized drawing supervised by the Secretary within 48 hours after polls are closed. The drawing to select the precincts audited following the November 8th Presidential Election was held on Thursday, November 10th at 10:00 am.

The post-election audits were conducted between November 15th and November 22nd. Below are the selected precincts. Click on the City or Town name to view a PDF of the final audit report as submitted by the municipality.
