Description |
The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) is seeking proposals from qualified broadband service providers to deliver affordable, high-speed internet services to low-income residents at three CHA properties: Frank J. Manning elderly housing high-rise in Central Square, Washington Elms, and Newtowne Court apartment complexes. This initiative is part of a CHA FTTP (Fiber to the Premises) Broadband Pilot Project, a joint effort between CHA and the City of Cambridge aimed at increasing broadband affordability and quality for low-income residents. The selected service provider will be responsible for delivering a reliable wireline connection to each residential unit, ensuring high-speed internet service availability in compliance with the requirements of the CHA FTTP Broadband Pilot Program. As part of the overall CHA FTTP Broadband Pilot Program, the dark fiber network services RFP and the Internet Service Provider (ISP) RFP are two separate but interconnected components. |

Additional Information |
Venders awarded the contract for dark fiber network services will be precluded from participating in this ISP Service Provider RFP. The dark fiber network established must operate as an open-access network, ensuring that the infrastructure is made available to multiple ISPs on a fair and non-discriminatory basis. This structure is intended to promote competition and provide CHA with the flexibility to work with a range of ISPs to deliver high-speed, reliable broadband services to its residents.
