Conservation treatment of one bedroom on the second floor featuring 19th Century
English pattern block print wallpaper and ceiling affected by water damage from a leaking chimney. Stabilization and Surface Cleaning. Consolidate flaking design elements,Remediate mold & surface clean,Set down lifting tear edges & borders,Infill losses & tone, spackle and paint plaster losses. Address damage at top trim and ceiling and in paint abrasions Past water damage resulted in wallpaper to be removed and painting over the repaired wall with matching colors and effects. Any wallpaper that can be saved, properly cleaned, and reinstalled following protocols outlined in Wallpapers in Historic Preservation, NPS
