DLC is still in the process of determining its legislative agenda for the coming year. For this reason, we cannot supply all bill numbers or legislative sponsors. We have retained Patricia Lynch of Fierro & Lynch to pursue a variety of matters related to rights of Massachusetts citizens with disabilities. At the moment, these matters include supporting 87 and S. 24, a bill advocating reforms in transition services, and supporting H 3715, a bill relating to eligibility for services from the Department of Developmental Services. We also may use the services of Attorney Lynch in efforts to defend or expand state budget appropriations for persons with disabilities, defend state policies to close or consolidate ICF-MRs, protect of human rights for persons with psychiatric disabilities in facilities or in the community, promote accessibility of health care facilities, and require “visitability” in affordable housing created through state funds.
