Discussing rates adhering to Chapter 257 of the Acts of 2008 with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. Chapter 257, titled An Act Relative to Rates for Human and Social Service Programs, was passed in 2008 and signed into law by the Governor. The law regulates pricing for the purchase of service system and places authority for the determination of reimbursement rates with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. The law states that the Executive Office of Health and Human Services must take the following into consideration when determining rates: reasonable costs to providers of any existing or new governmental mandate, changes in costs associated with the delivery of services (e.g. inflation), and substantial geographic differences in the costs of service delivery.
