John Adams - Three Branches of Government

John Adams envisioned a government with three separate branches–legislative, executive, and judicial. The Legislature would include the House of Representatives, which spoke for the people, and the Senate, which represented wealth. The citizens of Massachusetts would elect the governor. An elected Council would advise the governor and approve or reject appointments of judges.
