Le Grand D'erangement - The Acadian Exile in Massachusetts 1755 - 1766

On the eve of the French and Indian War, the Acadians, French inhabitants of Nova Scotia, were forcibly removed from their homes and relocated in the American colonies. Known as “Le Grand Derangement” or “The Great Disturbance,” it is one of a handful of moments in modern history in which an entire population has been displaced from its home and scattered. This exhibit tells the story of those sent to Massachusetts.

Includes 17 foam core panels measuring 56 x 32 inches.
