Louis Fuertes Bird Art Exhibit
Edward Howe Forbush (1858-1929), the first Massachusetts State Ornithologist, was one of the founders of the Massachusetts Audubon Society. In the 1920’s Forbush was able to commission Louis Agassiz Fuertes - whose reputation as America’s foremost painter of birds was by then well established - to create illustrations for his book Birds of Massachusetts and Other New England States. These paintings by Fuertes remain some of the most accomplished work on a regional avifauna ever produced.
Includes 26 foam core panels, various sizes.
