A Documentary by Somerville High School Students

Reclaiming Black Faces: For Frederick Douglass, Nat Turner, & Denmark Vesey is an exciting new documentary that explores mistaken identity and race in the media, as a history class from Somerville High School (MA) investigates the discovery into why and how Douglass' image have been incorrectly used for Nat Turner and Denmark Vesey...for years.

Kevin Dua is a history educator at Somerville High School. This spring, Dua was awarded the Massachusetts History Teacher of the Year; the Don Salvucci Award for Excellence in Promoting Civic Education; and the Kathleen Roberts Creative Leadership in Human and Civil Rights.
