Black History Month 2017

Seventh grade students from St. Mary of the Hills School in Milton toured a lobby exhibit about African-Americans and Maritime History, including Massachusetts involvement in the slave trade and the role of seaport communities like New Bedford in helping fugitive slaves.

Amy Clark of the Isaac Royall House and Slave Quarters presented a special program about “Belinda” an African woman who spent over fifty years in slavery on Antigua and at the Royall House in Medford.
