The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources’ (MDAR) mission is to ensure the long-term viability of agriculture in Massachusetts. Through its four divisions: Agricultural Conservation & Technical Assistance; Agricultural Markets; Animal Health; and Crop and Pest Services MDAR also inspects all dairy farms, which produce fluid milk for sale in the state. The following boards, commissions and divisions are: Agricultural Lands Preservation Committee; Board of Agriculture; Farm Technology Review Commission; Pesticide Board; Dairy Promotion Board; State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board; Division of Animal Health; Division of Crop and Pest Services and the Division of Agricultural Conservation and Technical Assistance, Massachusetts Food Policy Council, Public Market Commission and the Small Farm Demonstration and Training Center Review Board.
