About the State Records Center
The State Records Center (SRC) provides secure and economical records
storage and retrieval services to state agencies. The SRC, designed as
a part of the Massachusetts Archives at Columbia Point, is equipped with
state-of-the-art fire and burglar alarms, sprinklers, and other fire prevention
devices. The center's high-density shelving accommodates eleven cubic feet
of records storage per square foot, compared to the one cubic foot of
storage per square foot offered by file cabinets in the typical office.
Effective July 1, 2008, the State Records Center cannot assign src codes to any material with a permanent retention period.
Effective April 4, 2003, Thursday deliveries will
be suspended until further notice.
Procedures The SRC accepts state agency records that have been listed on a Disposal
Schedule approved for transfer by the Records Conservation Board. The

The SRC is not accessible to the public. Members of the public who
wish to obtain access to or copies of government records should contact
the creating agency directly. |
