2007 John Hancock "Promise of America" Essay Competition
The Commonwealth Museum hosted the 2007 John Hancock "Promise of
America" essay competition, attended by Secretary of the Commonwealth,
William Francis Galvin and Mayor of Boston, Thomas Menino, at which five
finalists presented their essays on patriot, John Hancock. At the same
event, Jim Gallagher, Senior Vice President, John Hancock Community and
Government Relations presented Secretary Galvin with a check for
$100,000 for the new Commonwealth Museum and its future programs.
